3. Company Update. Tomorrow night we’ll have our monthly strategy call. Today, the entire team is expected to look at our analytics to best answer three questions:
-What worked well this month?
-What should we stay away from?
-What’s your focus for next month?
Key numbers from August: 600+ users gained, 190+ games, 5 facilities to start in Sept. M/M improvements across the board.
2. What I’m Proud Of. Winter in the Tri-State area is stressful for anyone who runs sporting events. Space is scarce, prices are high, and weather is unpredictable. Knowing this, I reached out to venues in the areas of our existing game hosts. For each host, I had a list of indoor options, contact information, pricing, and availability. I wanted to plan ahead for them.
For those unfamiliar with our business, making these calls is pretty out of scope. It would be like Uber calling/negotiating prices with car dealers for their drivers who were looking for new cars. When I called our game hosts, they couldn’t believe that I had already done most of their work for them.
I encourage the team to go above and beyond with our users as it’s a key way to differentiate ourselves. The app is at the center, but it’s a small part of the company we’re building. We remain hyper focused on a quality end to end experience for our users and building a strong community.
